Your guide is a trifolau, a hereditary hunter who knows his patches by heart, working alongside dogs trained to catch the scent of the prized tuber beneath the soil. You walk at an unhurried pace, listen as he reads the forest through its trees and earth, and then the dog freezes, and you lift a still-warm truffle out of the ground with your own hands. After the walk comes lunch, a stone's throw from the woods, where your find is turned into dishes on the spot: tagliolini with butter and shaved truffle, egg, cheese and a glass of local red. What should we wear for the hunt?
Comfortable closed shoes and clothing for the season: the woods can be damp and muddy, especially in autumn. We advise in advance what to bring, based on the weather on the day of your walk.
