Wedding Venues in Versilia
Beach clubs, sea-view villas, hotel gardens and seafront terraces between Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio: shortlisted, checked for your date, booked.
Versilia is roughly 20 km of coast between Forte dei Marmi, Marina di Pietrasanta, Lido di Camaiore and Viareggio, with the Apuan Alps behind it and the hills of Pietrasanta and Camaiore above the sea. Wedding venues here come in six types: beach clubs (the bagni) for a ceremony on the sand, historic villas in the hills with a view over the water, 4 and 5 star hotels with gardens, seafront restaurants and terraces, private estates and vineyards inland towards Lucca, and yachts or venues in the Viareggio marina. Capacity runs from about 20 guests on a terrace to 200 or more in a villa park. Venue search is a service in its own right here. You give us the date, the guest count, the budget and the mood; we come back with a shortlist of places that are genuinely available, each with a real price, a capacity and a wet-weather plan. We run the site visits, read the contract, handle the deposit and deal with the town hall if you want the ceremony to be legally binding. We have been based in Tuscany for more than 15 years and work in English, Russian, Italian and German.
Venue Types on the Versilia Coast
Beach Clubs in Forte dei Marmi
The classic Versilia format: ceremony on the sand at the water's edge, aperitivo on the terrace, dinner with the sea in front of you. Most bagni host 60-150 guests and quote per person with catering included.
Sea-View Villas in the Hills
Historic villas and parks above Pietrasanta and Camaiore, 15-25 minutes from the coast: olive terraces, a view over the Tyrrhenian, room for 80-200 guests and, as a rule, exclusive use for the whole day.
4 and 5 Star Hotels with Gardens
Forte dei Marmi hotels with a garden or pool area: your guests sleep on site, dinner and party happen in the same place, nobody has to be driven home at 2am. Usually 40-120 guests seated.
Seafront Restaurants and Terraces
For an intimate wedding of 20 to 60 guests: a terrace above the sea in Forte dei Marmi, Marina di Pietrasanta or Lido di Camaiore, a fish menu, one long table and barely any setup.
Private Estates and Vineyards Inland
On the Lucca side, 30-40 minutes from the sea: walled gardens, cellars and rooms on the estate for the closest guests. For couples who want country Tuscany without giving up the coast.
Yacht and Marina in Viareggio
Ceremony or aperitivo on board, sailing out of the Viareggio marina, or a reception in the harbour venues: good for small groups, weather-dependent, always with a plan B on land.

Versilia Wedding Venue FAQs
Which months are best for a wedding in Versilia?
Late May, June and September are the sweet spot: warm sea, long evenings and prices away from the peak. July and August are the busiest and the most expensive; April, May and October work well for a villa in the hills.
Can we legally marry on the beach?
In Italy a civil ceremony is legally binding only in the town hall or in a place the municipality has formally designated as a branch of its registry office. Several Versilia municipalities have designated extra venues, outdoor ones included, and each list changes over time, so we check the one in force for your date. Anywhere else the ceremony is symbolic.
Do we need a permit for a ceremony on the sand?
A beach ceremony normally takes place inside a beach club's concession, so the club's own licence covers it and the setup is agreed with them. A stretch of free public beach needs authorisation from the municipality and comes with far tighter limits.
How much does a Versilia venue cost?
Seafront restaurants and beach clubs almost always quote per person with catering included, while exclusive use of a historic villa is a separate site fee instead. What a venue asks changes with the month, the day of the week and the format, so after a short brief we ask every place on your shortlist for a written quote for your exact date and put them side by side for you.
How far ahead should we book?
For a Saturday between June and September, count on about 12 months, and up to 18 for the best-known venues: they take one wedding a day and release dates early. Off season or midweek, 4-6 months is realistic.
How do guests get there from Pisa airport?
Pisa is the closest airport, about 35 km and roughly 40 minutes by car to Forte dei Marmi, longer on a summer weekend. From Florence it is about an hour and a half. We arrange group transfers, hotel room blocks and the shuttle between ceremony and reception.
